5 most ridiculous things holding you back in your personal growth

5 most ridiculous things holding you back in your personal growth

People have many wrong illusions regarding personal growth. I met many people who would like to change their lives. Move the things up from point A to the point B. People want to change their jobs, health, money situation, relationships and so on.

But are they doing enough. Most importantly, are you doing enough, if you would like to make some changes in you life?

You see, maybe you desire to have a new life, but over the years you got confused which way to go. Or maybe you tried it already, but it didn’t work.

Maybe there is is exactly the one thing holding you back from achieving, the desired change. In this blog post I would like to show you the 5 most ridiculous thing people think in general over personal development.

Ready? Find yourself a comfortable place and enjoy reading it!

It is too easy!

Unfortunately, it isn’t! I have to disappoint you here. If it would be easy everyone would do it! And as harder it is, as more you can enjoy the end result, right?

Now, lets go back in you, mind and think about any new skill you wanted acquire. It can be an easy skill like biking for example. If you don’t remember how you were biking at the beginning, you can ask you parents and they will tell you how good or how bad you were.

Remember no pain,no gain.In terms of personal growth, there is no saying better explaining its nature.Don’t search for short cuts ,rather work, patiently, celebrate little successes on the road and enjoy you wins !!

It takes too long!

Other than extreme are people thinking that Personal Growth is something not achievable and that’s why they might quit even before starting.

You could be surprised, how many things you might change in shorter period than you thought in first instance. Like for example you emotions by changing you point view. Take a rough example, like loosing you a job. Someone would drink it over and someone would look on that like a way to start something new.

Of course if you decided to lose 20 kilograms of you weight, it will require time to achieve it, but that you can easily divide into smaller steps, right?

Then it will not seem to be so hard ?

I don’t have enough knowledge !

And that’s why exist books, courses, events or amazingly helpful blogs (like this for example;-)

But seriously, if you think that the one thing holding you back in you personal growth is lack of knowledge, you cannot be further from the truth.

Whatever it is, you’d like to learn or you’d like to achieve, you’ll find plenty of tools to help you out. You are the one to take the action .

Get out of you comfort zone, if you don’t how I’ve created article that can help you, and practice.

I don’t have time !

I have to mention, that this one is the most ridiculous, stupid and bullshitting excuse someone can use. People would ask me how did I learn German and Dutch language, both just in a year. And when I am going to explain them which online tool help me, or that reading newspapers and listening to radio helped, they would say they don’t have time and they go watch eventually their favorite TV show later that evening .

Do you understand what I mean?

If you don’t have you purpose , you’ll find reason why you don’t have time .

And on the other side, if your outcome ,if your why is strong enough you’ll find time . If you would like to know more about how to give yourself more time by knowing your values and priorities, please check my post how to make right decisions and if you think, you may struggle to define your biggest why, check my post  Finding your true purpose in life

https://trywithoutlimits.com/finding-your-true-purpose-in-life/

It is all just about you priorities . Don’t forget homeless and successful entrepreneur they both have days consisting out of 24 hours.

In the end, I’d like to ask you to search what are the biggest assets, the richest people are mentioning. The most common answer would be time. Think carefully how you spend you time .

I can’t do it alone!

Let me tell you something. Before I read my first book about personal development, I wouldn’t even think of some of the things I have already achieved. Like learning new languages, getting back to paid football or starting my first business .

Those are just a few, very important tough. But what I want to show you is, that inside of you is much more than you think. Trust me. If I could it, you can do it too.

The perfect thing about you own growth in whatever direction you tend to go is, that it doesn’t matter what is you starting point. Important is start followed by you decision. You are way ahead of those who don’t try. And you can easily catch up time you haven’t been doing a lot towards you personal development or towards you desired lives.

With the right amount of hard work and persistence there are just few things they cannot be achieved .

And if you find yourself on this road, soon or later you might want to get guidance,or maybe not,but if you’d like to ask for some help or you might like get an inspiration, you can always search for my blog and check some of the newest blogs,or leave you comment under any of my blog posts, write message on my FB account and I can guarantee you that it won’t stay unanswered.

In the end of my today’s post I’d like to leave you with a message that there is only one thing holding you back from you personal growth and that’s you mind. Your decision. That decision you even have made it or not, or not yet .

But once you will decide that you want to achieve something ,there’s no such a obstacle which cannot be overcome.

Please, leave you comment below with you opinions, I would be more than happy to reply to you.

When it comes to achieving success in the aspect of personal growth, you need to convince yourself that you can attain any point you wish, it works just like the law of attraction, if you think positive you get the positive response. I like how you’ve explained the details of the things holding you back. I’ve a lot learned from this article.

Having read this, I couldn’t help but to figure out that this is addressed towards me exactly. I am guilty of every charges laid against me here from this post. Often times that I would have taken the decision to learn a new thing, it often always end badly because of lack of discipline to stay committed to it. Thanks for this eye opener shared here. Thanks a lot

Hi! With the new year and making of resolutions in full effect, this article is perfect to encourage and promote positive thoughts and self improvement. I definitely agree with everything you touched on in this article, and it’s all very relatable! What you said about the excuse of not having time is very true, I think that if we have a purpose and a will to do something, we will find and make time. So, in my opinion, time shouldn’t be used to justify the incompletion of tasks. With that in mind, I think our self growth will flourish! Thanks for this great article 🙂

Seemingly, these things that hold us back, these limits that we have acknowledged in our minds can be overcome. It will require time of course, but it is achievable.

As you mentioned, trying to develop any area of your life is no easy task. But it might be assuring to know that every individual has the seed within him/her to make the necessary change in their lives.

Great post. I’ll be on the lookout for more.

I agree that people use a lot of excuses for why they are not getting to where they want to go and these are some great examples. I think that taking too long and it is too difficult are the most used excuses but I don’t use them anymore. Do you think that you use excuses for why you are not getting ahead?

A very neat article on personal development. I can relate to what you talked about. In the last five-six years, I kind of settled and lived in mediocrity. But then last year, I realized that I was miserable and not enjoying life. Why wasn’t I happy?

Then last year came, and I realized I needed to make some changes to my lifestyle. I changed my diet, started exercising, and even quit my full-time job. Quitting my job was a hard choice, but I needed to leave because I was surrounded by negativity, and I was so miserable. Luckily, I’m working freelance and contract work, along with some affiliate marketing online. I’m going to keep working at it because I have a winning mentality now.

I could go on and on, but I’m glad I came across your post. I related to it so much.

Thanks for sharing- I enjoyed reading the post!

I am guilty of using the reason ‘not having the time’ over again on many occasions while I was growing up. Going to the gym, eating healthy, even going on dates. Stupid right. The reason finally became invalid while I was searching for a new trajectory in my career path. I knew I didn’t want to stay in the same workplace forever, I had to put my creativity to work somewhere otherwise, I may as well not live.

That’s when I realized every minute is precious if I want to make changes. Small plans, leading to bigger ones and eventually, I’ll be able to break free from the 9-5 and become my own boss. Today I am working earnestly towards that plan and I know it will come to fruition when the time is due.
